Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative including angels, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will split off from the main group to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer knows the region and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as key figures in the influential clan could help the group access places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Questers and Strategists groups.
