In a surprising collaboration that defies conventional expectations, the game developer has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Uncovered

According to the formal statement, "A strange confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of banned rituals and monstrous changes resonate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine cult.

The questline centers on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Transformations

The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a striking moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Additional Content

Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an unique katana alongside several artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Addition

This release also introduces the game's latest free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
